A Joker's Rage - Black Sheep

I’m actually pleased with how good their Black Sheep EP is. Each song has its own life, which eliminates any chance of ‘ear fatigue.’ The high energy song that kicks off this EP is “Bounce.” The song feels like it was constructed specifically for crowd participation. With an easy, catchy chorus, the song makes you want to do what the name suggests. Mesmerizing guitar leads and incredibly danceable drum beat make this song an easy fan favorite, and a staple in A Joker’s Rage’s setlist for years to come.
Moving onto “Temptress,” my favorite track from the EP, I feel it’s definitely one of the more lustful sounding songs I’ve heard since I started working with Good Night Magazine. Solid guitar riffs match Zachy Boy Taylor’s excellent vocals, making this an incredible song. His contribution is nearly flawless; he doesn’t sing out of his range or awkwardly trip over the other instruments. The feel of this song is comparable to a song off of Motley Crue’s Doctor Feelgood; it just has that kind of sex appeal.
Overall, the guys of A Joker’s Rage have packed enough punch in the Black Sheep EP to make them a band for me to continue to follow. They may not be the first band to incorporate stage makeup - and they certainly won’t be the last - but all that matters is where they go from here on out. Be sure to pick up a copy of Black Sheep. Keep in mind that A Joker’s Rage will be taking you down a wild road: they’ll be driving you to a colossal party with the pedal to the floor the entire time.
Although the name A Joker’s Rage conjures up imagery of the Batman villain, go ahead and shake those mental pictures out of your head. You won’t catch these guys maniacally laughing while robbing banks and terrorizing the general population. In fact, they bring a whole new meaning to the word ‘joker.’ To them, wearing makeup isn’t a gimmick to garner attention. It’s their ‘game face’ that channels the suppressed parts of their personalities; the personalities that come out during their shows. They’re already taking over their homeland of England by storm, but can they carry that momentum with them to the rest of the world?
