Midnight Soundtrack Goes Deep

Christina Macaluso | September 24, 2015

When I first looked up Midnight Soundtrack, I was instantly shocked that this project hailed from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Being born and raised in “The Hammer,” I'm very aware of the stereotypes of the run down “Steel City.” But there is never a shortage of talent produced in this city. Midnight Soundtrack...

Lionfight - Black

Heather Ronan | March 15, 2015

Taking stands on and getting the word out about different issues is a big part of the music industry, so it’s no surprise when Chicago based band Lionfight stuck with that trend. Their newest single “Black” is about the damaging and inescapable control that addiction has over a person, specifically a heroin addiction.

Velafire - Voids

Dan Trinkler | March 14, 2015

Velafire...Velafire...Velafire...

The Barn Is Still Standing - The Ambien Child's Nightmare

Ashlee Castellano | March 13, 2015

It’s time to sit back with a cup of coffee and jam to some mellow songs in this chilly weather. The Barn Is Still Standing, from Shreveport, Louisiana, is working on their self-titled album, and I was lucky enough to listen to their new single, “The Ambien Child’s Nightmare.” This single is anything but a nightmare. Vocalist Brett Veuthey has the voice of an angel and is nothing short of one. By his side, Ian Clifton plays the acoustic guitar and together, they make a perfect team to catch you in a daydream while listening to this song. Most songs nowadays have the singer spitting out verses that make no sense unless you search it down on the Internet.

My Ransomed Soul - Mockingbird

John Hargrove | March 4, 2015

Baltimore-based metalcore quartet My Ransom Soul released their latest album Trilateral on February 24. The first single from the album, “Mockingbird,” hits heavy, and it’s also one of the best metalcore songs I’ve heard in a while.
