The band claims Radiohead and Tycho as just two of their influences.

I can sum up this song in one word. Meditative. When I listen to it, I catch myself swaying to the melody involuntarily. I find myself harmonizing to the repetitive lyrics. “Stay” by Halcyon gives off this focused, coffee shop vibe that is hypnotizing in the best way possible.

The technical aspects of “Stay” create very non-technical sounds. The generous reverb of the vocals give off this ethereal quality.  The cascading guitar melody made my shoulders drop in extreme relaxation

and meditation. When the song ends you feel like you have woken up from a trance and you are unaware of how much time has passed.

The lyrics are repetitive, which makes it easy to remember and sing along. Halcyon seems to be describing a feeling, person, or place that makes them feel comfortable and “like home.” This experience is obviously an energy they want to “Stay” with them constantly as to provide a life source to everyday life. This energy is what gave unearthly birth to this reflective song.
