Straight Jacket Legends - Lemon Party

acoustic songs and that with the cello is so beautiful. The vocals overlap and that is always awesome; they are also in different keys so it goes together magnificently. I could listen to this song over and over.

“Night Time” is another very pretty song. Consisting of piano, cello, tambourine, violin, and some snare,  it’s a song that functions as an audio encouragement. The vocals are wonderful and the arrangement of the song is incredible. The vibe is somewhat sad yet says ‘keep going’ -- It is a lovely song which makes me smile when I listen to it.

With a sound very similar to “Stacy’s Mom” and other tracks, “She’s Out Of Line” is a very hard song not to sing along to. The combination of the guitar and drums is very catchy and puts you in a good mood. This one would definitely get the crowd going and would turn heads catching the attention of those not caring much. I can imagine this one would be fun for the band to play live and would be a more popular one at their shows.

The first song on the album, “Paul Shakes,” starts with a guitar riff going into a nice intro like something big is coming, and what do you know, it turns out to be a phenomenal song, with strong lyrics and intense riffs. The drums blend in a powerful backbeat to complete its picture.

Straight Jacket Legends will be playing at the Cariad Ink Tattoo Festival in Llandudno, UK on Nov. 28. The Lemon Party EP was released on Nov. 11 via RED-distributed Self Made Digital Records, and the full-length will be released in 2015.

This “pop punk classic” band, as Alex Barker of Kerrang! called it, started as a bedroom project in 2012 in Holyhead, Wales. With their irresistible hooks, orchestral arrangements, powerfully energetic live performances and cheeky humor, Straight Jacket Legends propelled to #5 on iTunes in February 2012. So far they have toured with Zebrahead, Army of Freshmen, The Misfits, and more.

Before I reveal my first favorite song off their Lemon Party EP, I’ll say this is my favorite album that I have reviewed so far. I love the song “Alibi” because of the acoustics and use of a cello as well as the vocal production. I love
